New to Flux?

Use our guide below to work out which class level might be best for you.

Reformer 1

Are you new to Pilates (10 classes or less in the last 6 months)? Are you coming back from a break (whether injury, post pregnancy or otherwise)? Do you have some injuries you’re not sure how to modify? If you answered “yes” to ANY of these, our Reformer 1 classes are best for you.

Reformer 2

Do you have over 6 months of regular Pilates practice? Do you know your modifications for any injuries or conditions? Have you spoken to one of our staff and they have recommended to you our Reformer 2? If you answered “yes” to ALL of these, our Reformer 2 classes are best for you.


Reformer 3

Not sure if you are ready for our Flux Pilates Reformer 3 classes? Use this checklist and if you’ve answered ‘no’ to ANY of these - Reformer 3 might not be the right fit for you. Always check with your instructor before booking into your first Reformer 3 class.

  • Have I done at least 6 months of Reformer regularly (consistently over 6 months)?

  • Can I stand on the Reformer without assistance?

  • Can I hold a plank on the carriage or footbar for 20 seconds?

  • Side plank (both sides) with my hand on the footbar for 20 seconds?

  • Can I rollover?

  • Can I invert?

  • Can I high kneel (on shins only) and balance confidently on the moving carriage?

  • Can I maintain strong form, control and alignment under fatigue?

  • Can I tolerate a faster paced class with minimal exercise explanation 

  • Kneel and balance confidently on the moving carriage 

Reformer 3 is not suitable if:

  • You’re still needing regular setup support or needing regular exercise demos

  • Balance or upper body loading feels challenging in Reformer 2

  • You’re currently pregnant or managing an injury

  • You’re still unsure how to use the machine

  • Transitions still feel confusing or rushed

  • You need frequent 1:1 support throughout class

  • Reformer 2 still feels overwhelming
