Pilates beef (not a teaching tip)
If you’re an instructor or just into Pilates, you’re probably well aware of the beef and divide there is in the industry at the moment as to what is “real” Pilates and what isn’t. And it just feels really negative. It doesn’t lend itself to conversation or inclusivity which can be hard for a new instructor coming into the industry.
Whether you teach classical, group fitness, Lagree, full studio or on a screen. I think there is space for everything. What may work for one person, doesn’t always work for another. So rather than partaking and adding more negative fuel to the Pilates police fire, maybe just chill out - consider what it is you offer that is of value to the Pilates community. Feel empowered to share and even though you might get backlash - there is no ONE WAY or RIGHT WAY. It’s just different and celebrate that difference.
