Managing the room

What does this mean? Well it requires aspects beyond simple teaching skills. It requires you to lead and guide your clients. A few tips to help you manage the room:

  1. Observe then cue: where does it land, is it one person, is it everyone, should you reset?

  2. Move around and pay attention to everyone: see how clients move from different angles, share your time, make sure no one is left behind

  3. Get familiar with what clients will find complex: preempt what might people struggle with, how can I be prepared to break it down, modify, props?

  4. Lead with confidence: fake it until you make it. If you shy away or have a bad time, people feel that. How can you improve the atmosphere and get people to buy into what you are saying.
