Getting employed
So you’ve finished your Pilates certificate. Congratulations! Now how do you get work?
Here are a few things I would do:
Set up a business relevant social media: this allows potential employers, clients and other industry partners to find you. You can showcase your skills and personality and develop a brand and following!
Create a Pilates specific resume: include key details about your qualifications, experience and references. Don’t include your laundry list of high school education and earlier roles unless you can tie this into your Pilates skills
If cold calling/emailing/messaging studios or gyms for openings: customise your communications. Maybe have a look into the studio ethos and offerings and personalise the message. Putting in a bit of effort goes a long way!
Be open to saying yes: taking on covers can be a gateway into regular classes/blocks. Don’t be afraid of covers - it’s a great way to network and gain experience teaching!
