Do you demo / visually cue?
When you teach classes - do you demo? Here are some quick easy tips when it comes to demos:
Don’t demo the whole time - limit it to a couple of reps so you can get back to observing your clients and managing the room
We spoke about this before - position yourself where people can see you. If it’s complex or requires them to lie down/ face different ways. Demo first and then set them up
Consider mirroring - it allows you to face your clients. They can see you and hear you (more on this one in another video)
Understand why you are demoing - make sure it makes sense for the class level and complexity of movement. Would it be better to have a client be a demo body and you to teach through the movement?
Demoing is a great strategy for helping clients understand movements that might be otherwise complicated to explain in words and some people learn better with visual cues. Do you demo in class? Do you fall into the trap of demoing too much? That is definitely another video. But let us know!
